"Yes! Only 4 more to go...hey, she's already done?"
I hear many people saying they can't do Crossfit (or other workouts) for the simple fact that they are TOO out of shape. Honestly, I was one of those people. I looked Jason and Justin (owners of Conviction Crossfit) right in the face and said "I'm too fat to workout". Their response was nothing but laughter and I now know why they laughed. Just because I was over weight didn't mean that I couldn't do the workout. Just because the other people there were faster didn't mean anything when it came to my time. The one thing I had to keep telling myself was "They all had their 1st day in this gym, so they've all been where I was".
I know all too well the fear of walking into a Crossfit gym and seeing all the athletes (yes, athletes) in there throwing weights over their heads, doing 120 wall balls, 7 min of burpees...of course my first response was "HELL NO" and walked right out the door lol but I gathered up my strength and came back; so when people say "It's so hard" you're damn right it's hard but the hardest part is walking in the door.
It's great to be competitive and see who's faster and all that but mostly your biggest competition is going to be you. It was so aggravating seeing everyone finish the workouts before I did and have better times then me, but it wasn't until owners and coaches pointed out that just because other people beat my score doesn't mean that what I did wasn't good. Being so worried about the other athletes i completely over looked that i had been beating my own scores the whole time. So, with all that said... WALK THROUGH THE DOOR AND KICK SOME ASS! =)
